Spell-binding! Instagrammer matches pictures of Hocus Pocus filming locations with stills from the classic Disney movie

A Hocus Pocus sequel is seemingly in the pipeline for next year, so now’s a good time to grab a broomstick for a trip down memory lane – to the filming locations of the original 1993 movie.
These fascinating pictures show some of the exact spots in Salem, Massachusetts, where the Disney movie was filmed, matched with scene stills from the cult flick, which tells the story of three witches who are accidentally resurrected on Halloween by a teenage boy.
The amazing images were snapped by Instagrammer Courtney Steers.
She visited the grand Ropes Mansion, which doubled as Allison’s house in the movie and the place where the three witches come back to life to haunt children.
Steers also snapped Phillips Elementary School, which is John Bailey High School in the movie, and the Old Town Hall from the memorable scene where the witches sing the classic song I Put A Spell On You.

The picture on the left was captured at Salem Common. Many of the movie’s street scenes were captured here. On the right Steers shows us how the special effects team had fun with the Ocean Avenue house used as Max and Dani’s abode. In the film the beams of light shooting out of it summon the witches after Max and Allison open a creepy spell book
