LAS VEGAS – The coronavirus pandemic has turned Nevada’s premier tourist destinations into deserts of uncertainty. 

But vacations will resume here next week as June 4 is the first day Nevada casinos can reopen being closed for more than two months.

Nevada gaming authorities released a set of rules Wednesday before Las Vegas Strip properties open, including temperature checks, mask requirements for employees (and encouraged for guests), occupancy limits in gaming areas and social distancing. Clubs remain shuttered until further notice.

Here’s what we know about how hotel-casinos are angling to reopen in Nevada, according to the Reno Gazette Journal, which is part of the USA TODAY Network. This list will be updates as more information becomes available:

MGM Resorts

MGM Resorts will reopen four properties on June 4:

  • Bellagio
  • New York-New York
  • MGM Grand
  • The Signature

The company revealed it won’t open all hotels at once, but rather start with two or three targeted at different traveler budgets. 

At the Bellagio, the famed fountains will be turned on. 

The Conservatory will open with a new Japanese Spring Garden display called “Japan Journey: Magic of Kansai.” 

Lounges such as Petrossian Bar and restaurants like Prime, Lago and The Mayfair Supper Club will also reopen.  

The pool and a selection of cabanas — as well as a salon and fitness center — will be open and available.

At New York-New York, the Big Apple Roller Coaster will ride again. 

Guest will also find a variety of bars, restaurants and shops will open, including Tom’s Urban and Hershey’s Chocolate World.

The pool and fitness center will open with a selection of cabanas available to guests.

At MGM Grand and The Signature, bars and lounges as well as casual and fine-dining venues including Craftsteak and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill will be open.

Cabanas will be available alongside a portion the pool. The salon and fitness center will be available to hotel guests.

Rather than opening all properties at the same time, the chain will first welcome guests to Caesars Palace and the Flamingo Las Vegas

The doors will open on June 4.

Both Caesars Palace and the Flamingo will offer hotel rooms, dining options and access to pools – as well as slot machines and table games.

Harrah’s Las Vegaswill open a day later on June 5.

Wynn Resorts’ luxury Strip properties will reopen June 4.

In the wake of the unprecedented COVID-19 shutdown, the long-awaited reopening will come during phase two of Nevada’s “Roadmap to Recovery” plan.

“We are ready to provide our guests with a full Las Vegas experience with a collection of luxury amenities and unmatched service,” said Wynn Resorts CEO Matt Maddox in a Wednesday statement.

Both Wynn and Encore hotel towers will open at the same time.

Alongside fine-dining restaurants, lounges and eateries, two 24-hour casinos will welcome guests to table games, slot machines and sports book seating.

Pools, private cabanas, verandas patios will also reopen, as well as retail esplanades, beauty salons, fitness centers, a barber shop and and spa. 

Wynn’s 18-hole golf course will be booking tee times 

Las Vegas Sands

Both the Venetian and Palazzo will reopen at 9 a.m. on June 4. 

Guests will find a restyled Venetian pool deck inspired by the Italian Riviera and complete with the largest private cabanas on the Strip.

There will also be a new poolside café – Spritz.

These cocktail spots and restaurants will also reopen:

  • Mott 32
  • sixth+mill
  • Matteo’s
  • Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beer
  • CUT by Wolfgang Puck
  • The Dorsey
  • Electra

Station Casinos 

Station Casinos also plans to reopen casinos a minute after midnight on June 4: 

  • Red Rock
  • Green Valley Ranch
  • Santa Fe Station
  • Boulder Station
  • Palace Station
  • Sunset Station
  • All Wildfire properties

Fiesta Rancho, Fiesta Henderson and Texas Station are not accepting reservations. 

Station Casinos will hold off opening Palms, Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho and Texas Station until data reveals how business is doing in the wake of COVID-19.

Boyd Gaming 

Fremont Hotel, Aliante, Gold Coast, Sam’s Town, Suncoast, The Orleans and California Hotel will open at 12:01 a.m. on June 4. 

“We are optimistic that we will be able to reopen most of our properties over the next several weeks,” Boyd CEO Keith Smith said in a press release, “and we look forward to offering our guests a safe and enjoyable entertainment experience.”

The Strat

The north Strip resort formerly known as the Stratosphere will reopen on June 4. 

The Cosmopolitan

The Cosmopolitan is reopening June 4, according to the property’s website.

Sahara Las Vegas

Sahara Las Vegas will reopen at 10 a.m. on June 4. 

Reno resorts and casinos

Atlantis will reopen on June 4. 

Grand Sierra Resort and Casino is accepting reservations for stays starting May 29, but the company’s plans will be subject to announcements from the governor’s office about reopening measures. 

The Peppermill will reopen on June 4. 

The hotel-casino will implement extensive safety training and also test its employees prior to re-opening. Peppermill employees will be required to wear masks at all times, with guests also being encouraged to do so. 

Sparks resort and casino

The Nugget Casino in Sparks announced on Thursday that it will resume operations soon, with added health and safety protocols in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. 

Lake Tahoe resort and casino

The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe also announced that it will resume hotel operations on June 4.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome back our guests and community,” the hotel-casino posted on its Facebook page: and will be taking enhanced steps in order to ensure your safety and wellbeing while on-site.
